Mice

Mice infestations are common in parts of the Front Range and carry a substantial hazard to homeowners. Some of the more serious risks include:

  • diseases which can be transmitted through their droppings or fur

  • damage to the home due to the mice chewing through wires (this can be a substantial fire hazard), chewing through drywall, or otherwise destroying your personal possessions

  • contamination of food areas, insulation and other vulnerable parts of the house with their urine and droppings

Although mice can be hard to identify due to their elusive and nocturnal behavior, there two main types that are encountered by Colorado homeowners are the house mouse and deer mouse.

The house mouse is typically brown gray or gray on top with a lighter shade of gray on their belly underside. The deer mouse, on the other hand, is bi-colored and can be reddish gray to gray on top and white underneath. Both are similar in size with a length of 2-4 inches.

Mouse infestations are known for how quickly they can escalate due to the speed at which mice can breed and multiply. If left unaddressed, one pair of mice can quickly turn into an overwhelming invasion.

If you suspect mouse activity in or around your home or business, don’t wait.
