Earwigs

Casually referred to as pincher bugs, earwigs are easily identified by the pincher appendages that extend from their abdomen.

Earwigs are attached to moist, dark areas during the day (underneath rocks or bricks) and will come out to hunt at night. While they are mostly outdoor insects, earwigs will make their way into home or structure interiors in search of moisture. They can also easily be transported inside via plant pots, cardboard boxes or clothing.

Luckily, earwigs do not pose a threat to humans in terms of structural damage, damage to personal belongings, or harmful disease. They may try to pinch you if they feel threatened but overall are a relatively harmless nuisance pest. Even so, they can be quite annoying to home and business owners with the large numbers their populations can reach during the Colorado warm season.

Our team is experienced in managing earwig populations safely and effectively.
